Rooted in Resilience: The Early Journey

Hi, I’m Dora Boussias.

At 17, I arrived in the U.S. speaking limited English, but my journey began long before that. Growing up in a loving family of humble means, I worked on our farm cultivating tobacco and other crops. Those early experiences taught me the value of hard work and perseverance, and instilled in me the resilience and grit that became the foundation of everything I would later achieve. Upon arriving in America, I relied on these values to overcome language barriers and balance my studies, all while working my way through college, in pursuit of my education. This determination launched a 30-year career leading transformative, global initiatives in data, AI, and leadership across industries at world-class companies like GE, Stryker, and Prudential.

Rising Through Leadership in Tech

Navigating challenges, I learned powerful lessons that helped me rise through the leadership ranks in the male-dominated field of tech. With a BS in Computer Science (Quinnipiac), an MBA with a focus on Management and Finance (Quinnipiac), certificates in Change Acceleration Process (CAP), Leadership Development, and Management Development (Jack F. Welch Leadership Center), and certifications in AI: Implications for Business Strategy (MIT Sloan School of Management), AI Product and Process Innovation (Innodemia), I built a strong foundation. Throughout my career, I led meaningful transformation, drove business innovation, crafted impactful strategies, and delivered scalable solutions at enterprise and global levels across industries—including Financial Services, Healthcare, Insurance, Retail, Construction, and Education—all while fostering authentic and empathetic leadership. I’m grateful for the internal and public recognition I've received in data, AI, and leadership for my contributions to the industry.

Giving Back: Mentorship and Advocacy

Beyond all corporate milestones, at my very core in and out of the office, I've always been deeply passionate about sharing my hard-earned lessons and uplifting others. Throughout my corporate journey I made time for #GivingBack—mentoring women in tech, coaching professionals from aspiring talent to seasoned leaders, and sharing expert insights as an international speaker and advisor to several boards. I firmly believe in empowering individuals to take charge of their careers and ‘be the captain of their ship’™—whether they’re growth-driven professionals striving to break through barriers or data leaders navigating the complexities of data, AI, and transformation.
